New York, NY – The journey from SAI Academy to the world’s biggest stage is officially complete.

SAI Academy proudly celebrates 2023 graduate Alex Freeman after being named to the United States Men’s National Team roster for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

Freeman’s selection marks a historic moment for SAI Academy, showcasing the pathway from elite development and flexible education to the pinnacle of international soccer.

“As we end another school year here at SAI Academy,” said SAI Director of Operations Lauren Thompson. “We are constantly in awe of what our student-athletes have been able to achieve throughout the years. We have been immensely proud of Alex since he signed his first professional contract prior to finishing high school. To watch him graduate from SAI Academy and the Orlando City SC academy, transfer from MLS to La Liga in Spain, and now to the world’s biggest stage at the 2026 FIFA World Cup has been incredible. His pathway is one that all of our student-athletes aspire to follow. We are honored to be able to witness his growth and be a part of his history.

Freeman has quickly emerged as one of the bright young American stars. Since debuting with the USMNT on May 22, 2025, he has already earned 15 caps for the national team, solidifying himself as a key figure in the squad heading into the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

Earlier this year, Freeman made headlines across the soccer world when he completed a club-record transfer from Orlando City SC to Villarreal CF of Spain’s La Liga in January. The move represented another major milestone in his rapidly rising career and further established him on the global stage.
